Benchmark Thyme is a unique blend of ethically grown Thyme cultivars to provide the most effective composition of anti-bacterial aroma-chemicals, while being gentle on the skin. A number of researches have shown that Benchmark Thyme exhibited the strongest bactericidal effect (killing various strains of Staphylococcus aureus including MRSA) in comparison with other Thyme chemotypes and Tea tree oils.
Throughout history, the herb of Thyme has been known to be a reliable antiseptic. But Common Thyme (Thyme vulgaris) can be harsh on the skin. With its unique combination of four Thyme cultivars, Benchmark offers the best of both worlds: strongly bactericidal, and yet skin-friendly.
Benchmark Thyme will also be reliable (i.e. of “industry standard”) because its aroma chemistry will remain the same, year after year.
Suggested Uses
On wounds:
About 5% dilution in base oil (e.g. Jojoba oil) for topical application on wounds.
As air-disinfectants:
Blend with lighter oils such as lemon, bergamot, palmarosa etc. and to vaporiser / diffuser/ nebuliser
As hand sanitizers:
1% dilution in aloe vera gel (i.e. 2 drops in 10ml of aloe vera)
General cleaning:
Blend with lighter oils such as lemon, bergamot, palmarosa etc. and add to water (e.g. 3-5 drops in a small bucket of water) for mopping the floor or cleaning furniture and curtain
